God is More: Hang In, Hold On

A few weeks ago Pastor Buddy Cremeans from Northway Church in upstate NY spoke at our church, Shore Fellowship, for part four of the One Prayer 2009 series. The title of his message was God is More. I believe it was perfect timing for Pastor Buddy to be at Shore and a perfect message for the people at Shore Fellowship. (You can watch Pastor Buddy’s message here.)

Tonight, as I was reflecting on the past few weeks (especially Gabby Guenther going home to be with the Lord), a poem I wrote awhile back came to mind. I realized that what I had written came to fruition and it all ties in with Buddy’s message. I hope you will be encouraged. God is More, God has more for us. If we hang in, if we hold on to Him, to His Word, to His promises, we will get the More! We need to continue seeking, we need to keep pressing forward, we need to avoid complacency and always look for the ‘More’ of what God has in store for us. His plans are perfect and His purpose is our reason to live.

I’m holding on

I’m waiting for

What I know you have in store

My hearts desire

And so much more

I’m hanging in and I’m holding on

Even though the world around me is worse each day

Life hasn’t been better than it is right now

Because at this time

I’ve never felt closer to you

And it’s because all I’ve had to go through

I’ve never been more in love with you

You turn everything meant to destroy and use it for good

Just like you promised you would

I’m hanging in

I’m holding on

I’m waiting for

What I know you have in store

My hearts desire

And so much more

I’m hanging in and I’m holding on

I keep my eyes to you

As each day passes by

I need to fulfill your plan

I’m watching time fly

Just when I think I can’t make it

You uphold me with your mighty hand

Each day I seek your face

I won’t cease praying

Thank you Lord for your endless grace

I’m waiting for

What I know you have in store

What the world can’t see

Let them see in me

What the world can’t hear

Let them now hear clear

This is the time, this is the hour

The end is near

I’m here waiting, anticipating

So I’ll keep hanging in and

I’ll keep holding on
